Bill Glauz is the Manager of Distributed Generation at the Los Angeles Department
of Water and Power. In this position, which he has held since 1998, he oversees
the development of LADWP’s Distributed Generation Program, including installing
and testing new DG technologies such as fuel cells and microturbines, and developing
utility and customer DG programs. Bill has been employed at LADWP, the nation’s
largest municipal utility, since 1980 in several positions, including Public
Benefit Program Coordinator, Government Affairs Representative, Environmental
Program Manager, System Planning Engineer and Civil Engineer for coal, hydroelectric
and geothermal power plants. He is currently the utility representative on the
California Stationary Fuel Cell Collaborative. He has held numerous positions
within the American Society of Civil Engineers, including Chairman of the Los
Angeles Section, Energy Technical Group. He was the Chairman of the Environmental
Committee of the Western Systems Coordinating Council, and has served as the
Secretary of Interior’s appointee, representing the utility industry, on
the Bureau of Land Management’s California Desert District Advisory Council.
He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
